You can also use the HTML Page editor to create your personl web page. |
Edting Your Profile |
You must be logged in to edit your profile, collection or leave feed back.
Once
you have logged in, there will be additional menu options that will be
displayed. One of these menu options is the My Snowdance Profile menu option.
When clicked, the profile editor will be displayed.
|
Near the left side next to your name is a pencil graphic. Clicking on the pencil
will take you to the profile edit mode. Below is part of what the profile edit
mode screen will look like. The User Name is the name, nick name or screen name.
You can change this at any time. This is not the same as your log in name. The
Title is the your title for the site. For example, Debs Barbie Collection. Next
to the Avatar label is a button labled, "Select." Clicking this button will
bring up a dialog that will allow you to select a picture or graphic from your
computer to be used for your avatar. The picture will automatically be resized.
The next field down is the Page Editor.

|
Page Editor |
The page editor is an HTML editor. There are buttons for spell checking, cut,
copy page (in several formats), undo, redo, image manager, image map manager,
format stripper subscript, superscript, bold, italics, underline, left, right,

link, remove link, table manager, symbol manager, add a date, add the time, font
color, background color, font name sizes and more.
You can also use third party HTML editor and copy the HTML. All this is provided
sto help build your My Snowdace Page. |
Uploading an Avatar |
|
The Avatar is the small image that is displayed next to your user name in the My
Snowdance Member listing. |
Adding to Your Snowdance Collection |
Entering items in your My Snowdance
Collection, is a two part process.First you create the main or master record
with a description of the doll or outfit and then you add the pictures. Near the
top of the table is a link labeled, Add a Doll or Outfit.
 |
|
When the Add a Doll or Outfit Button is clicked, a form similar to the one pictured
below will appear. Here, you enter the title, a numeric display order, select
category and a description. Once you're done entering or editing the
information, click the Insert or Update Button. |
 |
Next to each record is a symbol that looks like a greater than charachter
circled and marked as step two in the imagte above. When that symbol is clicked,
it will change to a V looking symbol appearing to point down. That record will
expand and display the detail records associated with that master record (doll
or outfit). You will also notice an Add a Picture link. You can add multiple
pictures for each outfit. I would suggest that only a few pictures be associated
with each doll or outfit. When the doll or outfit is viewed, each of these
pictures must load before the record is displayed. If you add too many pictures,
it will take a long time for all the pictures to download. |
 |
|
When the Add a Picture link is
clicked, you will be presented with a screen that looks similar to the
illustration above. Each picture can have a brief description. Below the Picture
Description field is a blank with a Select Button next to it. Click this button
and a dialog will be displayed that assists you in finding the picture on your
computer that will be uploaded, resized and associated with the doll or outfit.
Finally, click the insert link and the picture and picture description will be
saved. |
